Why have regional grants become essential in 2026?

With the removal of CPF funding for the car licence in 2026, regional grants have become the main funding lever for many candidates. Regional Councils have in fact strengthened their schemes in 2025-2026 to absorb part of the demand no longer covered by CPF. Here is an overview of the main schemes available.

Île-de-France: driving licence grant

The Île-de-France Region offers a grant of up to €600 for young people aged 18 to 25 who are seeking employment or in an integration programme. Conditions: living in IDF for more than 6 months, registered with France Travail or a Mission Locale, and not having benefited from the grant in the last 5 years. Apply via the IDF Region website.

Nouvelle-Aquitaine: youth mobility grant

Nouvelle-Aquitaine offers up to €1,000 for those aged 15 to 25 as part of its 'Youth Mobility' programme. The grant can be combined with the €1/day loan. Conditions: residence in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, enrolment in a training or employment pathway.

Hauts-de-France: driving licence grant

The Hauts-de-France Region offers €500 for job seekers under 30. The grant is conditional on a professional project validated by a France Travail advisor. Funding is paid directly to the approved partner driving school.

Occitanie: mobility training voucher

In Occitanie, the 'Mobility Training Voucher' covers up to 50% of training costs (capped at €800) for young people aged 16 to 30 who are seeking employment or in an apprenticeship contract. Apply via the regional training grants portal.

PACA: transport and mobility grant

The PACA Region incorporates driving licence funding into its 'Transport and Mobility Grant' scheme for RSA (social welfare) beneficiaries or job seekers under 26. Amount: up to €800. Apply via local France Travail agencies or Mission Locales.

Brittany and Pays de la Loire

These two regions have similar schemes via their Mission Locales and PAIO (Information and Guidance Services). Amounts range from €300 to €700 and are subject to income conditions and integration pathways.

How to find the grant available in your region?

The simplest approach is: 1) Check your Regional Council's website in the 'training grants' or 'driving licence grant' section. 2) Contact your Mission Locale if you are under 26. 3) Speak to your France Travail advisor if you are a job seeker. 4) Ask your DevisPermis.fr partner school directly - they know the local schemes.
