Taking your driving test in the 15th arrondissement of Paris means training in the most populated district of the capital, with around 229 713 residents, structured around Vaugirard, the Front de Seine and Beaugrenelle, the western edge of the Eiffel Tower and porte de Versailles. The 15th lies entirely within the Paris Low Emission Zone, which has banned Crit'Air 3 and more polluting vehicles since 2024. The arrondissement, known as the "arrondissement de Vaugirard", covers a large left-bank area and runs along the south-western section of the ring road.

The Saint-Lambert, Necker, Grenelle and Javel districts show very contrasting morphologies. Rue de Vaugirard, the longest street in inner Paris, crosses the arrondissement from east to west. Rue de la Convention, avenue Émile-Zola, avenue de Suffren and boulevard de Grenelle structure the inner network. The Front de Seine, a 1970s high-rise residential complex, and the Beaugrenelle district with its shopping centre generate sustained local traffic, while porte de Versailles concentrates permanent event activity (trade shows, exhibition park).

To obtain a category B licence in Paris 15, candidates must master merging onto the southern ring road via porte de Versailles, porte Brancion and porte de Sèvres, as well as exits towards the A86 and the N118 south-westwards. Proximity to Necker Hospital, the Georges-Pompidou European Hospital and the Paris-Issy heliport adds specific traffic. The bridges over the Seine (pont Mirabeau, pont du Garigliano, pont de Grenelle, pont Bir-Hakeim) are frequent training passages, particularly to reach Boulogne-Billancourt or the 16th.

Preparing for the licence in the 15th also requires reading numerous complex junctions properly: place Cambronne, place de Breteuil shared with the 7th, the Pont-Mirabeau roundabout and place Adolphe-Chérioux. The heavily used bus lanes on lines 39, 49, 80, 89 and PC, the cycle paths added along rue de Vaugirard and avenue Émile-Zola, and coexistence with pedestrians around the André-Citroën park and the Exhibition Park demand from candidates a precise reading of markings, constant positioning in the lanes and sustained anticipation of direction changes.
