The essentials

The 125cc training authorises riding a 125cc scooter or motorcycle (up to 11 kW) with a Class B licence held for at least 2 years. Training lasts 7 hours over 1 or 2 days at an approved motorcycle school: 2h theory + 2h plateau + 3h road. 2026 price between EUR 250 and EUR 450. No final exam, certificate issued by the instructor and sent to ANTS.

Pricing and rates for 125cc Training

The price of 125cc training ranges from €250 to €350 depending on the school, with €300 average. In Paris and major cities, expect €350 to €450. The fee covers 2h theory, 2h manoeuvring, 3h riding, scooter or motorcycle rental, gear loaned for lessons, and the official certificate. No exam, so no extra registration fees. It is a modest investment for a much more flexible urban mobility. CPF via Mon Compte Formation can fund this training for professional use (delivery rider, courier, fast-delivery jobs).

Intensive training

125cc training is intensive by design: 7 hours over 1 or 2 days (8am to 4pm in continuous format). Particularly suited to car license holders for at least 2 years wishing to quickly extend their mobility. Possible to take it on a Saturday or holiday to avoid impacting the work week. No exam, the certificate is delivered immediately. Schools often offer weekend sessions for accessibility. A quick 15-min test at the start checks your basics in balance and braking before launching.

Yes, the training covers scooters and motorcycles up to 125cc and 11 kW. It is valid for all vehicles in this category.

How much does 125cc training cost?

125cc training costs between €200 and €250 depending on the driving school. It is a modest investment for much greater urban mobility.

My car license was obtained before 2011 - do I still need the training?

What insurance is required to ride a 125cc on a car license?

Civil liability insurance is mandatory (article L211-1 of the Insurance Code). Most insurers (France Assureurs publishes average rates) charge a specific 2-wheel premium, distinct from car insurance.
